    3. I haven't posted in a while and the list has been oh-so-quiet. I thought I'd see if anybody could connect with my line. Matthew Holloway, b. 1821, Tennessee m. Miranda Triplett, b. 1826 in North Carolina Note: Matthew served in the 60th Illinois Infantry, USA, which saw action at Corinth, MS, among other places. He appears on the 1860 Pope County, Illinois census in Broad Oak P.O. He appears on the 1870 Franklin County, Arkansas census in White Oak Township. 1 Jul 1875 he filed homestead on 80 acres in White Oak Township, Franklin County, Arkansas. Matthew & Miranda had the following children: Salina Holloway (n.d.) Elizabeth Holloway (n.d.) James "Mint" Holloway, b. 1850, Pope County, Illinois m. Eliza Jane David Holloway, b. 1851, Pope County, Illinois John M. Holloway, b. 1853, Pope County, Illinois, m. Mary E. Sison William J. Holloway, b. 1856, Pope County, Illinois Mary Hildreth Holloway, b. 1865, Pope County, Illinois Mary Hildreth Holloway m. Charles Lee Melton before 1888. Family tradition says that they were married in Greene County, Missouri (Charles's birthplace), but there is no record in either Arkansas or Missouri of this marriage. Mary died 12 Oct 1896 in Franklin County, Arkansas, of St. Anthony's Fire. **Any** information would place the provider on a level of sainthood! We have no idea where Matthew came from, besides the ambigous "Tennessee" provided by the census, or who his parents were. We can't explain the move from Franklin County to Greene County and back. TIA! Mary Hill tonymary@bellsouth.net
