    1. HOLLOWAY/ HARDESTY; Fountain Co IN 1830's
    2. Hi All I am seeking information about Mrs Elizabeth (nee ?) HARDESTY who married John HOLLOWAY in Fountain Co IN on 27 Sept 1835. It is my assumption that she was widowed/divorced between 1830-35 and is a relic of one of the 7 HARDESTY families who were neighbors of Mr HOLLOWAY in the 1830 Fountain Co census. In 1840 the family was in Warren Co IN (I think). The 1850 census (Jasper Co IN) indicates that the family group consisted of John age 56 b. NC; Elizabeth age 47 b. OH; James HOLLOWAY age 20 (John's son from his earlier marriage ?); Isaac Hardesty (sp Horrdesty, Elizabeth's son from her earlier marriage ?); and John D. age 11; William age 9; & Elizabeth I. age 7; (the latter three being products of the 1835 union). I am descended from the only child of their son John D., who along with his brother William both died in Civil War service. I have no clue at this point of the fate of the young Elizabeth or of James or any of either side of the first families' offspring. I am seeking aid in/from any direction that would increase my knowledge about any of my HOLLOWAY/HARDESTY connections. -- Darwin Newton Cambridge KS denewton@sktc.net
