    3. David, Margaret"Polly"Holloway who married Meredith COLLINS was married to him about 1795. Lets say she was between 15-20 when she got married??? that would mean she was b. between 1775-80. Do you have a Margaret Holloway of that time period? Check out my site. It has a file on Meredith Collins and in the photo albumn a picture of son William. Meredith's military entry is also online. A Susan Holloway married one of Meredith's sons, James Collins. I don't know if she was related to Margaret or not?? Any help appreciated. 3. Hi All you Holloway searchers, I was looking through a book called "Cattle Brand of the Acadiens and Early Settlers of Louisiana-Attakapas and came across a Charles Alloue/Holloway with a cattle brand in the year 1798. The spelling was strange Alloue with a note that the name was Holloway. Also in 1793 was listed a Charles Holloway, with his cattle brand listed. They a probably one and the same. Also, for anyone searching for Holloway in Louisiana I came across 2 families in Volume 33 Additional entries 1756-1904 from Donald J. Hebert's books on Southwest Louisiana. They are as follows: HOLLOWAY, Hermogene (Joseph & Louisa PICARD) m. 25 Aug. 1902 Amanda DOUCET (Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA: Vol 5, p 105 HOLLOWAY, Isaac of Scotland, a Presbyterians (Isaac and Elizabeth RIDE) m. 21 Jan. 1798 Elizabeth METAYER of North Carolina (St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, LA. These church records begin in 1756. I just thought this would be interesting to some of you. 3. This is my first message to Holloway List and I am not sure what form it should be used. I am working on the theory that my name, HOLLOWWA, is a mispelled form of HOLLOWAY. There are very few HOLLOWWAs. On the Internet in 110 million names I only found eight and I knew them all. I am including the 'top' of my family tree, as I know it, and three generations if anyone can be of any help. You will also note that there is a HOLLOWAY that married a HOLLOWWA. Thanks for any help. 3. Hello to all, I'm researching my family and I'm really stuck finding info on my g. grandfather. Here's what I have so far: My grandfather was Stanley Holloway born in Mankato, Jewell Co., KS. m. Venita I. Sullivan in Reno, NV in c1939 and d. in 1946 in CA. They had 2 daughters, Rebecca Ann and Patricia Irene. Stan has a sister, Alma Holloway (who married Frank LaRosa) and a brother, Otha "Pete" Holloway. Stan's father was Joseph William Holloway b. Jan. 25th 1880 in KS, could have been in Concordia, Cloud Co.; Beloit, Mitchell Co.; Glen Elder, Mitchell Co.; or Ionia, Jewell Co.. Married Emma A. Reystead in Mankato, Jewell Co., KS on Jan. 4, 1905. Emma was born Feb. 26th, 1887 in Mankato, KS, d. in Ceres, Stanislaus Co., CA on Dec. 21, 1968. Joseph had 3 brothers, Frank, Eddie and Charles and maybe 2 sisters. A Pearl Phillips could have been a sister or a sister-in-law. Their mother may have been Rebecca Young. I've been told that this side of the family is of Scots ancestry. Do these Holloway's sound familiar to anyone? Thanks, Terry King taeking@televar.com

    3. I am searching for information regarding the ancestors and descendents of Eugene C. Holloway, born around 1850, perhaps in Louisiana. He died Nov. 23, 1904, and according to family records, is buried in Benick. LA. I have not been able to find that place on a map, so it may be a misspelling. Eugene married Araminta "Mittie" Maude Cowan of Handsboro (Gulfport) Mississippi (b. feb 28, 1852; d. Oct 2, 1933). They had these children: William Mercer Green, b. 1871; Eugene E. Jr., b. 1874, Archie Douglas, b. 1877; and Jasper C., b. 1886. William Mercer Green Holloway married Annie L. Smith (b. 1874; d. 1963) on June 18, 1895 in Richburg, Lamar Co. Mississippi. They lived many years in Harrison Co. Mississippi and then moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi in the 1930's I would be happy to correspond with anyone with information about this family. Grace W. 3. Hi Gary, I have an elusive Holloway connection that I'm chasing around the West. James L. Holloway [oldblue97@usa.net] tells me that you have Idaho Holloway family. I'm trying to find the name of my unknown Holloway great-grandfather. My great-grandmother, widow Kate E. HOLLOWAY married 2nd 25 Apr 1907 in Lewiston, Nez Perce, ID Charles L. Maydwell. At the time of her remarriage, family tradition says she had 3 attractive red-headed/ auburn-haired daughters. The youngest Nettie Bascom Holloway, tradition says, was b abt 1892, Seattle, WA. Kate and her new husband had relocated to Denver, Colorado by 1909, when daughter Nettie, my grandmother, was married, as "Nettie Bascom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lawrence Maydwell." I know little about Nettie, as she died when my dad was 12 yrs old. She was an accomplished pianist and violinist. If you have Holloways who were in Idado ca 1895-1910, would you be willing to share their names? I'm pursuing any and all leads. Thanks in advance for your assistance. 2. Walter F. Harwood
    3. After discussions with several individuals, I have decided to try an experiment. I am going to post what I have on the GEORGE WHEELER line on the HARWOOD surname list, and invite all interested parties to join, and contribute what they wish. I chose the HARWOOD list for a couple of reasons. (1) It is currently rather "not busy", and we will not be cluttering an already busy list. (2) I can guarantee that the list owner will not complain about "off topic" discussions. I chose the GEORGE WHEELER line because of the numerous surnames that married into it, and of course, my personal interest in the line. The below list is the individuals I have in my database that are associated with this line. I doubt seriously that it is complete, and probably has errors. That is the object of this experiment, let’s get the errors out of the line if possible. The asterisks indicate those surnames for which I know of a list. I will post this identical message to each of them. If anyone knows of a list for the other surnames, please pass the message on. When we have pounded poor old GEORGE’s line to death, we can move to a new one. As far as rules, there are none. However, please keep in mind that the object is to constructively, not destructively discuss, and correct the line. Some of us are old hands, and some are new to this game. Let’s have a bit of patience. I will post the GEORGE WHEELER line to the HARWOOD list Saturday evening, Thailand time in order for those interested to sign on. Thanks in advance for any support.
