Mary, There are several of us researching the other Barnes HOLLOWAY who married to Sarah MEADOR/MEADOWS on Aug. 14, 1780 (Bedford County, Va.). In time family members migrated to Ga.,Ala.,Ms., and Tx. Could both families be from the same "Line of HOLLOWAYS"???????????? Gary
Looking for info on James HOLLOWAY who married Eliza Canant cir 1847-1850. They were listed in Blount Co. 1850 Alabama Census, both age 27 with Eliza's children William, Mary and Elizabeth. James and Eliza HOLLOWAY are in the Blount Co. 1880 census but he must have died before 1900. Apparently they never had any children together and she is buried next to her son, William in Cullman Co., AL.

Dear List Members, I'd appreciate a lookup in WFT Volume 4, Tree 2208 for Frank HOLLOWAY. Greatfully Yours Hank Holloway
Hi Gary, My name is Robert John Holloway (1966-), son of William Andrew Holloway (1939-), son of Ernest Charles Holloway (1895-1947), son of William Bennett Holloway (1855-1906), son of George Leworthy Holloway (1835-1906), son of William Holloway (1810-?), son of William Holloway (?-?). Whew! I've only been doing my Holloway genealogy for a couple of months, but I've had a windfall of information come my way. I've been very lucky! I have many, many gaps in my tree that I would like to fill. I would really appreciate it if you would please add me to your mailing list at your earliest possible convenience. Hopefully I will be able to make a connection with someone. Good Day! Robert Holloway 268 Bush St, #3227 San Francisco, CA 94104 rjholl@slip.net

Hi, I hope this goes through, I 'm having trouble getting my computer off of html. I am looking for info on Daniel Holloway. He was married to Mary (nln) abt. 1803. I think that they were in Va. and then moved to Ohio. They had 3 children that I am pretty sure of, Jonas, James, and Mahala. They may have had Mary and John also. They were Quakers at some point as first 3 children were found in Flushing MM, Belmont. Co., Ohio. Any info on this family or related ones will be appreciated. Thanks, Linda

Dear all HOLLOWAY researchers, Along with providing (see below) what is recorded in vital records for the children of my 5th Great Grandparents Joshua PIERCE and Hopestill HOLLOWAY and Joshua's background, I would like any information and the source on Hopestill's parents and anything about their lives. I do know Joshua and Hopestill's children from vital records (see below), but notice the children's births are recorded in both Cornwall, CT vital records and Pembroke MA vital records. Can anyone explain why the children's births were recorded in both places and where were their children born - Pembroke CT or Cornwall MA? Does anyone have any reliable source(s) besides "Seven Pierce Families" giving the parents of Joshua PIERCE as their appears to be some confusion on this. Also, I would like any substantiated information on the parents of Hopestill HOLLOWAY, Joshua's spouse. The book "History of Cornwall" pgs.244-45 provides some information on the life of Joshua and speaks of their children: Joshua Pierce, the father of Joshua, John, and Seth Pierce and of several daughters belonged to Pembroke of Plymouth County , Mass. He bought the place now occupied by Maj. Seth Pierce may 17, 1748, consisting of three hundred and three acres of Joshua Jewel. Joshua Pierce was the venerable ancestor of the Pierce family. he wasa poor boy, put to a hard master, who treated him with much unkindness and severity. But when he became of age his severe training which he had recieved made him an industrious, economical and respected citizen. He gave half his wages of one years hire, when living at Pembroke for the building of a house for the worshiping of god. He was remarkably prosporous in acquiring property. He gave 63,000 for his farm which he bought of Jewel. he here increased in wealth, and was liberal toward all benevolant objects an ever remembered the poor.and such was his reputation and standing the he was one of the firstchosen to represent the town in the legislature, to which place he was reelected for ten different sessions. He was a good ministerial man for the sake of their office. He showed himself a genuine descendant of the puritans in principle and feeling. Generally the descendants of this venerable Joshua Pierce have been prosperous and respectable, having a blessing resting upon them. He died at the age of 80 years, on Mar.13, 1794. He had five daughters, Elizabeth and Eleanor, married two brothers. Amos and Solomon Johnson. Sarah, the second daughter married Jonathon Chandler. The younger, Prisilla and and Anna married Perez and Titus Bonney, two brothers. Mr. Pierce married his second wife, a widow, Starr from Danbury. Mine is "William Holloway of Taunton, Mass. in 1637" It was first published by Everett Hall Pendleton in 1949. This is my line and is a very good source for information as it comes up to my mother. I would suggest you request the books you are interested in through interlibrary loan and see if the information you are looking for is included in the book. Mr. Pendleton cites Mr. Holloway several times where they chose to disagree. I rather liked knowing there were other thoughts and were included. My Holloway book has 356 pp and was $ 49.00 about 5 yrs ago. Just a few thoughts on the subject, Kathy -- "My Coat of Arms buttons in the back... is this normal? Higginson Books has two HOLLOWAY books in their online catalog: "Genealogy of the Holloway Families" by Olin E. Holloway (1927, 62 pp., $69.50) and "Colonial Cousins: the Holloway Family of York County, Virginia" by G.E. Hopkins (1940, 89 pp., $18) I really hate to plunk out money for these without knowing beforeforehand whether "my" Holloway's are in them. Does anyone have either of these books? Can you tell me, please, if my Holloways are included? My Holloways are John HOLLOWAY and his four children, all married in Prince Edward Co., VA: Priscilla HOLLOWAY, who m.
