    1. [HOLLOWAY-L] Holloway and Thompson?
    2. Nancy Harwood
    3. Looking for a Holloway-Thompson marriage, perhaps 1830s in Georgia/Alabama. My great-grandfather, William Holloway Thompson, was born in Alpine, Talladega County, AL in July 1840. I can't help thinking that Holloway was probablly a family name, and I keep looking for a Holloway-Thompson marriage that might have produced him. Names given to his children included Robert Lee, John William, James Monroe, Elijah Washington, Mary Frances, and Emma. Nancy Harwood Houston, TX

    3. Hi looking for a Rupert Holloway that might still be alive he is the child of Edward and Maria Payne Holloway. The reason that I am looking for this family is because he is the Brother to my Grandfather. My Grandfather died at a very young age and his wife would like to know what happened to this family. We have not had any contact and we can only guess that they are in the states. My Grandmother is now 90 years old and she would really like to know this if you can help. If you need more information e-mail leeny@pris.bc.ca

    1. [HOLLOWAY-L] Andrew Jackson HOLLOWAY
    2. Thompson
    3. Hi HOLLOWAY Listers, I found dates for my HOLLOWAY line at last! So I will post them with high hopes, don't dash them now. Be my cousin, PLEASE? Andrew Jackson HOLLOWAY born 1833 in Tennessee. The 1880 census states he was a farmer, and has them located in Southfork Township, (Arkansas) I believe. He married Margaret "Peggy" THARP she was also born in Tennessee, in 1831. Both stated on the census their parents were born in Virginia, but this doesn't match family stories which have the HOLLOWAY line coming from North Carolina, in Orange County. Their children were stated on the 1880 census to be as follows; Rebecca born 1858 in Tennessee Daniel born 1862 in Tennessee Anthony born 1864 in Tennessee Nancy born 1867 in Alabama William born 1870 in Tennessee A. born 1871 in Missouri The family Bible has an Erie, but I think this "A." might be him? John born 1874 in Missouri Susan born 1878 in Arkansas Jessie born 1879 in Arkansas So that's what I have. Please feel free to contact me on anything about this line. Thanks Peggy Holloway-Thompson ronpegt@tir.com

    2. Yep..I'm back and still trying to uncover this family line.Running on another lead that maybe Mahulda Holloway's father was a John.I realize the name of John is as common as water in the Holloway line. But still hoping someone out there might recognize the connection.Mahulda was b. in 1765 I have down that she was b. in SC but I had seen another where she was b. in NC.So who knows at this point. She married John POOLE in 1781 in Old 98 Dist of SC.Thanks everyone again for your patience and putting up with my endless postings on this woman...Thanks..kim

    3. Dear Hank, Dear Hank, I ran a find on my spreadsheet of Holloways and found a Franklin Holloway (b. 1838 SC)[1850] which means found in 1850 SC census. His father was Wiley Holloway (b. 1803 SC, m. Mary (b. 1804 SC))[1850](2. Emily (b. 1830 SC))[1870] Wiley also had a son Henry b 1840. Names are common so that is not necessarily a hint that this family could be connected and your Henry Marion named after an uncle. I do have Wiley's father is Jordan Holloway 26639 (b. 2/22/1775 VA, m. Mary 26640 (b. 1776 SC), d. 2/22/1862 Edgefield SC)[1850]. Jordan is my direct line, and another son, Elijah, brother to Wiley, is my line. Jordan's parents are Reuben Holloway (b. 1753 VA, m. Peinnah Jordan 1774, d. 1806 Edgefield SC) Rev War Vet , Holloway Cem ,Greenwood SC Its a long shot, just thought I would see if it might help. Have more siblings, but I have no further information on any of them. Therefore either the researcher did not continue to look for them in later censuses, or they left the state, as this was done by a Old Edgefield Dist. SC researcher. -----Original Message----- From: Hank Holloway <hollohen@inreach.com> To: HOLLOWAY-L@rootsweb.com <HOLLOWAY-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, April 12, 1999 9:58 PM Subject: [HOLLOWAY-L] HOLLOWAY in Henry and Clayton Co. 3. Billie, thank you very much for responding to my email. It's just a hunch, but I'm betting that my Will is closely related in some way to Jesse Holloway and wife Mary Brashears. They had a daughter named Missouri and there was another Missouri also. That would make 3 Missouri Holloways including my Will's daughter. Fern

    3. Dear Charlotte, I checked in my Holloway spreadsheet and found the following Jesse Holloway. He could possibly be the father of Mary Ann. Since there is no further information on Jesse, it can be assumed that he did not show up in a later SC census and either died young or moved away. This is not my research, but an accumulation of research from several Edgefield Co. researchers including myself who send info to one and he enters it all together. He lives in Utah and has access to LDS records to check censuses. As far as I know right now, Jesse is not of my line. 1- John B. (Jack) Holloway (b. 1846 McCormick SC, m. Susannah E.
