Whendi, There is one in Alvin, where I live. The main thing it has going for it is that it is close.... 5 minutes away. The Claytone Genealogical Library in Houston is 45 minutes away. The only disadvantage for me is that the Alvin office is very small, and so is only open a few hours a week. It is possible to access some records through them that you can't find anywhere else, though, by using their Microfilm.... they will borrow the film from the Salt Lake center for you, and let you view it in their local facility. Now, with the new web site they have opened, it's possible to locate the information you meed right from homw,,, then go to the local Family History Center and order the film, then return to the FHC to view it when it comes in. Pretty good deal. Whendi Wainwright wrote: > > I recently found out there is a Latter-Day Saints Family History Center in my town. Has anyone used these facilities?
