Judy, Wow! I have never heard of the name Onezine. Does it occur in Louisiana? How is it pronounced? I think your idea is terrific, that surely must be what it is, and I just am not familiar with it. You're absolutely right about our "real" names. I'm forever telling people that when our ancestors came to America, they usually either changed the spelling of their names to match the pronunciation, or they changed the pronunciation of their names to match the spelling - whichever was easier! Some families changed both!
