Hi Just wanted to add my thanks too for this wonderful work on the documents. An added comment: just returned from 3 weeks on Austria and followed up on a thought I have been having of HOffpauir name origins. I have been doing a lot of research in the Alsace-Lorrain theory and on realizing that the area was a part of the Austrian-Hungarian empire and remembering how often I see name the name Hofbauer in austria, I went to the library in Vienna and spoke with several people there. Although you do see the name Hoffbauer/hofbauer in Germany it appears that it is most often of Austrian origin. That was just an opinion which I hope to follow up on. I did find a current Thomas Hofbauer in Vienna and also a listing of one in Hungary. This will add to my research in trying to find some origins for our Thomas I hope. so the hunt goes on.
