All, OK, in my travels today, I found myself about 15 miles from Ebeneezer, so I stopped for a look see about Malenion. Yes Charlie, she was the wife of William Hoffpauir. Besides this, Malenion died in 1910, which is impossible for her to be Austin's first wife, seeing that he married Mary Eudora in 1894. While there I saw John Robert "Bob" Faulk. He and I walked the cemetery as he pointed out various relatives and related stories about each of them. Bob is 80 years old and has a great memory. He remembers all of the ancestors we are in quest of. Bob knows exactly where they fit the puzzle. I promised him that I would come back and spend more time with him and get as much info that he can give. I told him that I was coming back with a note pad, camera, and tape recorder. He laughed and said" come on, I'd be glad to help. " Although I have been to Ebeneezer many, many times over the years, it was really interesting to watch him slowly guide me through the cemetery to each of our ancestors. What a nice man. When I drove up he was pushing a wheel barrow picking up pine needles, with his faithful dog, Goldie. He doesn't look, nor act like he is 80 years old. I told him if he didn't watch out he would bury all of us. It looks like he has a number of years left in him so it wouldn't suprise me. He couldn't tell me about Austin's first wife but did remember Mary Eudora very well. He said her nickname was "Dora". Felton, Looking back on my last post I said that Austin and Mary Eudora had six children, my mistake, seven is correct. I am fairly sure that Aaron Eugene is the correct name that you have as Adam Eugene and as far as I know Iva had no middle name. The other thing to note is the 1900 census you quote. Austin had his first three children with Mary Eudora before 1900. Aaron 1896, Avery 1898, and Isabelle 1899. Which would coincide with his marriage to Mary Eudora in 1894. Of course Samantha and Alice were from his first wife, along with Eva. At sometime Eva had a daughter, apparently out of wedlock, I have her listed as Kiefer Dailey, she later married a Nathan Perry. Sorry this post is long and somewhat jumbled. Had to put all of this down before I forgot exactly what I learned. Roy P.S. Anyone interested in a picture of a particular headstone, let me know. I plan on returning to Ebeneezer and Indian Bayou soon to take photos of my lines, i.e.; Faulk, Hoffpauir and Dailey.
