Felton, I also have a problem with placing Austin Dailey's first wife as a child of George Hoffpauir. I have a son of his (George and Mary Ann) family as James Hoffpauir, born in abt 1858 and listed in the family in the 1860 census, but there is no mention of any other child by the name of Melinda Anne, or anything like that, at about that age. I notice that Roy Williams thinks that Austin's first wife was an older sister of Mary Eudora.... I also think that might be so but can find nothing substantual as proof. Roy, I have Aunt Ruth (who I only knew by the name Ruth also) listed with a possible first name of Margery.... that's the way she is in the book updated by Buddy Hoffpauir.... and her first child was named Margery Ruth Hoffpauir. I assume that she or another family member submitted it that way. I've never heard of Hazel either.
