    1. Marriage Date
    2. I was asked to get the marriage date for my Aunt Margie and her husband Ray Young. I got a letter from her today and here it is: June 24, 1971. The officiating clergyman was Dr. Lathan Johnson, DD She also had this to say about Thomas: "Grandpa's great-great-grandpa came with some brothers -- who I don't know. They married French girls and came to America is what "Mother" Ruth told me." She also sent to me a newspaper from Lake Charles, dated Sun., Aug. 25, 1991, called the "Imperial Calcasieu". It is page 43 and nearly the entire page is a write up on the Hoffpauir clan. It has pictures of family members at the gathering for the 50th wedding anniversary of Eston Barney & Olive Hoffpauir in 1935; one of the Rev. Thomas H. Hoffpauir, son of Rev Able Hoffpauir; Louis Hoffpauir 1890-1921; Mrs. Dan Carpenter nee Florence Hoffpauir, Frank & Malissa Hoffpauir on the 50th anniversary, and the Indian Bayou Methodist Church. The article contains a lot of history. I would be willing to transcribe it to the list here if it's not already been done. I'm going to try and make photo copies of it and see how they come out. I'll also try scanning it into my computer. I don't hold out too much hope for good replicas of the photos. Regards, Sharon Dulcich
