Special Attn: Plans are being completed for the Gravemarking/Dedication Ceremonies for the HOFFPAUIR FAMILY REUNION to be held on LABOR DAY 2000 at the Indian Bayou Methodist Church and Cemetery. At the request of Calcasieu Chapter, NSDAR, and the Hoffpauir Family Reunion Committee, we are pleased that the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution has approved the placement of a marker in honor of THOMAS HOFFPAUIR, Patriot, who served under Galvez. We are told that only five (5) gravemarkers are approved each year by the NSDAR. We have located members of the NSDAR who have documented lineage to THOMAS HOFFPAUIR in Lafayette, Crowley, Rayne, and Lake Charles, LA, and in Houston, Texas, however, we hope to locate additional "daughters" to include them to participate in the ceremony. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated! This Milenneum 2000 celebration is of special significance to all descendants of our ancestor and expect a large attendance Further details will be developed for the observance and furnished for circulation.
