    3. To all Hoffpauir Researchers; There is an abandoned railway that crosses Bayou Hoffpower just west of Evergreen, LA. My first inclination was to assume the name as Lloyds for the bridge. But in The Official Military Atlas of the Civil War published by The US Army Military History Institute, West Point, NY, Gramercy Books [5th printing]1983, Plate LII contains one of the maps of the Red River Campaign under Major General N. P. Banks. The map is titled the "Valley of the Red River, LA from Mississippi River to Shreveport" and was drawn by Col. John S. Clark in the spring of 1864. A road is indicated from northeast of Evergreen passing Borodino Post Office and crossing Bayou Hoffpower twice on the northwestwardly route to Cheneyville. There is no railroad or a Lloyd's bridge indicated on the map.
