    3. Sharon, As a follow-up to Charlie's census record, I can only offer the following, and I have no idea where I got it. I have Starkus as being born "abt. 1858" and Melissa as being born "December 1859." There would probably thus be enough time for them to have been born separately instead of as twins. But yes, your dad may well have said something about twins in the Hoffpauir family, because my step-grandfather Samuel Rufus ("Roy") Hoffpauir was a twin to Susan Ruth Hoffpauir (who married a Methodist minister by the last name of George). S.R. and Susan Ruth were your dad's aunt and uncle, right? Also, from my experience with other families, it does seem like twins "run in families." Any other Hoffpauir twins out there?
