Roy, I knew that Austin had Married Malenion Hoffpauir before Mary Eudora, but I didn't know that Malenion had any children. Do you happen to know anything more about her children? Also, I did not know that Malenion was an older sister of Mary Eudora. Do you have any more information about Malenion? Sandy, You are definitely related to Ruth. Your Dad is her 1st cousin, so you are first cousins once removed. Your husband is also related to her, as 2nd cousins, or so my program tells me. Your grandfather Neville was Ruth's Mother's brother. sandy p petry wrote: > > David, > So sorry to hear about your grandmother. > When my son Travis was born, about 22 years ago,my dad, Bruce Hoffpauir, > said he had a cousin, Ruth, that was married to a man named Travis. David, So sorry to hear about your grandmother. When my son Travis was born, about 22 years ago,my dad, Bruce Hoffpauir, said he had a cousin, Ruth, that was married to a man named Travis. I am thinking that we would have to be related by the Hoffpauirs, but I am almost sure he said Ruth was his cousin. My grandfather's name was Neville. Do you have any information on this? Linda, I'm not sure which hotel you are referring to but my great-grandfather, Elias Spell, owned the Old Gordan Hotel in Lafayette, LA. I believe that after he died my great-grandmother, Gertrude Hoffpauir Spell, still kept it open for awhile until it was sold. Also, I'm not sure about the dates...I will have to look. I have some information about it from the Historic Society. I don't have the name or location with me, but I hope to also post it on the board. Does anyone know which Hoffpauir's owned such a place? There are lots of people on the porch posing and I will blow this up and try to get some faces for us to view. Also horses and buggies. What fun! Yeah, I was thinking of Luderin Darbonne, too. Randy

I have just finished reading an obituary for Mary Hoffpauir (must be her married name) who died November 13, 1962, a resident of Crowley. Her husband's name is not listed, so he probably preceeded her in death. However, two children are listed, curiously as Mre. Luder L. Darbone of Sulphur and Eldrich Dupuis of Lake Charles. Soes anyone know who this is and the name of her deceased husband? -- Charlie Hoffpauir http://web.wt.net/~charlieh/

David, my family and I wish to express our condolences on the loss of your Grandmother. With her passing passes the last of Austin Dailey and Mary Eudora Hoffpauir's children. She and the other five have left a legacy of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. And almost all of them being related to each other and the Hoffpauir name many times over. A legacy that is not dead but alive and growing everyday with new life and new cousins to find and a family list like this to help us along our way. And to Aunt Ruth, God Bless, though we will miss your presence on this earth, your memory will be with us forever. Roy Williams Grandson of Isabelle Daily

Our prayers are with you and your family. to lose a love one is always hard. My grandmother was 102 and my grandfather was 92. I still miss them. But to have lived that long is a blessing few can behold. God needed them with him after leaving them with us for that long. They will always be in our hearts though.
