I typed the marriage licens of Isaac Hoffpauir and Eliza Perry and it is available for viewing at the Vermilion Parish GenWeb archives. I, also, have a copy of the license of Alfred Perry and Berthina Hoffpauir, but I haven't finished typing it. It is hard to read the some of the writing. Ithink I have most of it done. I think i have it scanned as a jpeg if anyone wants it. I think I have both of them scanned. I can't send them on here, so it has to be on an individual basis. Randy

Felton, Now that I've combined my "2" Alexandre Hoffpauirs into one, I have another question.... When did his first wife die? I ask because I have Madelaine Stutes death as 1868 (but no source for that) and yet show three children with the last one born AFTER her death (Madelaine Elvina b. abt 1870 per 1870 census). Hi all, My Wife and I went to Ebenezer this afternoon (for 2&1/2 hrs, Julia reminds me). As we were walking through the cemetery taking pictures of all of the grandparents, as we approached another lady coming from the other direction, my wife asked if I knew who she was and I said no, but I am sure she is a relative. Well she was of course. She just happened to be the granddaughter of Mary Kiefer Dailey and Nathan Perry. The same family that we were discussing this past week. Later her mother, Opal Perry Bertrand came by and helped me decide if Malenion was or was not the sister of Mary Eudora. In discussing her mother and grandmother(Eva Dailey) I found Eva's grave, and her Aunt Fredonia "Doanie" Hoffpauir's grave, neither one is marked. Coupled with the fact that she remembered that Fredonia had a brother named Naamon, I think Malenion was the daughter of George and Margrete Hoffpauir, that Felton list in his post of 2/29/00 from the 1880 census for Vermilion Parish. George is the son of James Hardy Hoffpauir b abt 1 Oct 1808 St Landry Parish d 1882 Opelousas, St Landry Parish marr 1827 to Mary Belindus Faulk b 22 Jul 1813 St Martin Parish d 24 Feb 1885 Vermilion Parish. Many think that James Hoffpauir's middle name was Henry (I would like verification of this). It would be nice if someone would mark the unmarked the graves of those known before they are lost as are all my Indian Bayou relatives. I have 17 direct line ancestors known to be buried in the Indian Bayou Cemetary and not one has a marker. No one even knows where they are buried. Felton

The New Iberia Library has several complete collections of Father Hebert's books. I don't know how many are allowed to be checked out, but I do have three volumes checked out until March 21. I have yet to see any documentation for Thomas having a middle name of Henry & Francois of having a first name of Manoah. In 35 years of research I hve not seen this anywhere except from Will Hoffpauir's book and repeats thereof. If someone has any document with these extra names (having two name other than names given by a catholic priest was very rare in our part of the world) please share. I believe that Amelia was given her the name Marie at baptism but I cannot find the others in old records. Felton
