Charlie et al, I checked the "LeBleu Book" for Catherine Hoffpauir m. Martin LeBleu 21 July 1871 and couldn't find anything. Sorry, but I was hoping there would be something there. There are several Martin LeBleu's in there but none married to a Hoffpauir. There was some Hoffpauir's listed, though. I think most of the LeBleus settled in Calcasieu Parish. If anyone is there, maybe they can find something, although this couple was married in Laffayette Parish. According to Hebert Vol. 10, their marriage is recorded at Lafayette Ct House, Mar. 1397. You can either download the file and then open it with the Acrobat Reader..... or, if you installed the Reader and linked it to your Browser, acrobat will start up automatically and allow you to view the site on-line. What you will see on the first page is a wide sheet of "paper", 36" tall by 129" wide. It may take a few minutes before any printing will appear, because the file has to load into your computer. On my internet connection, this takes about 5 minutes. If you have a fast connection, it may take just a few seconds. There is a magnifying glass icon in the Acrobat Reader.... you may have to use it many times to magnify the image enough to be able to read the tiny print. There are a total of 21 of these large "pages"..... but you won't need to scroll through all of them. Acrobat contains a search function.... the binocular icon. Click on it and Acrobat allows you to enter a text string to search for. The only disadvantage here is that you need to enter the string exactly like it is on the document, or the search engine won't find it. I searched for myself as Charles R. Hoffpauir, and it didn't find me. But then I looked for Charles Richard Hoffpauir, and it went right to me. so if you're searching for your parent or grandparent and don't find them, there are a couple of possibliities. 1. I didn't carry the tree far enough (I went 6 generations from Thomas) 2. I didn't enter the name the way you have it. 3. I don't know about this relative. There are several descendants of Thomas that have exactly the same name as another descendant.... so you may have to repeat the search by selecting "Find Again" until you locate the "right" ancestor you are looking for. If you don't find the person you're looking for within a few minutes, I suggest looking for a sibling or a parent of that person. Some additional details: Only descendants of Thomas Hoffpauir are shown. The chart is incomplete, and will be updated as I connect more relatives to the "tree". So far I've connected many thanks to the responses I've received to my post about the "unconnected" Hoffpauirs. Of course, many descendants of Thomas are NOT named Hoffpauir, and my unconnected list doesn't include any of those. So if any one knows of a descendant that is missing from the Family Tree, please let us know by posting a note to the mail list. I have not tried to print a portion of this chart. I "think" it is possible, but one would have to use a very large format plotter to get the text large enough to read. I have a Lymon (spelled with an o) as the child of Thomas Ivy and Rosebud Foreman (now that I've entered the information you gave earlier in your note) but this Lyman (spelled with an a) I have some indication may be the son of Starkus Hoffpauir and Amilda Cordelia Hoffpauir. Of course, the spelling differences could be just a different interpretation of script..... but they could be two different people born at about the same time. But first, just a question to clarify : Obit: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at St. Michael Catholic Church for Agnes Junot Hoffpauir, 77, of Crowley, who died at 8:50 p.m. Monday, May 10, 1999, at her residence. Father Rusty Richard will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 10 p.m. today, May 11, and from 8 a.m. until time of services Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. However, in your note below you mention that James Harold is the son of Karl (Carl) Hoffpauir. Since I've found marriages for 2 Hoffpauirs with birthdates about right, I've entered them just as you've suggested.... the second James Howard the son of Karl. However, it appears that the Dustin Ross Hoffpauir I had in my list is a different Dustin from the one that you name as the son of James Harold.... so I've entered a new Dustin.
