    3. I am sorry if my discussion was not clear. I was saying that one clue that William Hodges of Northampton County, North Carolina, was not part of the family I am talking about was his naming a son Richard, a name almost unheard of among the family originating in central Virginia. The deed you are referring to was part of my showing the line of descent of the Pitt/Beaufort family of Hodges in Marlboro County, South Carolina, which is the line that is NOT the one I am connecting to. The connection is to the other Hodges line in Marlboro (Isham Hodges, etc.). Thanks.
