    3. http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Sultana/Sultana.html This is the URL to Greg Reeves' site on the sinking of the steamer SULTANA during the Civil War. The Sultana sank north of Memphis, TN on 27 April 1865. The database includes the name, rank, regiment, etc. of 2,090 known passengers, most were paroled Union soldiers from the states of OH, TN, IN, MI, KY and WVa. Over 1500 of them perished when the ship exploded. (Probably more than on the Titanic!) If you're missing someone who may have fought for the Union in the Civil War, this could be a very helpful source. Diana Stewart Flynn Springville, Lawrence Co., IN.
