    3. I did not find any further info on Francis in SC, who came from Belfast in 1761. So as not to confuse Francis's I looked up others as well. This one is interesting as it may connect to Roger Hodges of Isle of Wight. Description: The Virginian county of Norfolk was created in 1691 and merged into the city of Chesapeake in 1963. This database is a collection of abstracted wills by county residents between 1710 and 1753. It was originally published in 1922. Containing detailed information regarding the decedent's family, friends and possessions, researchers will find the names of over 7000 persons. Researchers will find valuable information on over 7000 persons either written in the will or included as witnesses. For persons with ancestors from eastern Virginia, this can be a helpful source of information. Extended Description: Dotted lines indicate matter intentionally left out by the Abstractor. Italics indicate uncertainty of spelling. The testator's name in heavy type is taken from the spelling of the name as given in the body of the will and not from the signature. When the will has been torn, decayed or is illegible it is so stated in parenthesis. The List of Wills so far as possible is made up from the spelling of the testator's name in the signature and is not taken from the body of the will. Where the exact mark of the testator or witness cannot be set in type, a plus (+) is used. Bibliography: McIntosh, Charles Fleming. Brief Abstracts of Norfolk County Wills, 1710-1753.
