Driven out in 1782 1788 Georgia ratified the US Constitution and became the fourth state 1838 The last Indians (Cherokee) were forced to leave (this is when all of Georgia was settled) 1861 Georgia seceded from the Union 1870 Georgia was readmitted My wife's ancestor John Musgrove arrived with Oglethorpe in 1733 and married Cousaponakeesa (Creek Indian), later known as Mary Musgrove.
