Birthdates, when only the year is stated, are derived from census reports with the understanding that there are the usual census inaccuracies. Franklin Co. was formed in 1786 from Bedford and Henry Co.'s.. Henry was formed in 1777 from Pittsylvania which was formed in 1767 from Halifax. I'm not sure where Wayne found the children's births in Halifax. Many times the early settlers would go to the nearest county seat whether or not they actually resided in that county. Subject's educational advantages were limited, but he is a constant reader. He was married, in 1846, to Miss Louisa Cargill, of Graves County, who bore him one child, George W., and died in 1847. Mr Hodges was next married, in 1854, to Miss Nancy M., daughter of Daniel T. and Sarah (Pryor) Cargill, and the result of this union has been the birth of Bettie (Barton), Sarah F. (Stafford), Susan M., Nancy M. (Coffee), Jemmey A., Thomas B., Ella May, Jonathan and Adella. Subject is a farmer, owning eighty acres of fair land in a good state of cultivation. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity and co-operates with the Democratic party. The Drury you list in Jones Co., Ga. appears to be the following: 1.
