Fellow cousins, I ran across a Richard Hodges who signed the Leedstown Resolve in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1766. Since I am a direct descendant of a Richard Hodges who was born in Essex County, Virginia in 1756, I was intrigued by the name. I know that my Richards's father who would have been a contemporary was John Hodges, which would definitely knocks me out of being his direct descendant.
