This is an aside from my posts on the Pigg River settlements. I have a letter from an A.S. Kirby that gives an abstract of the family Bible of Edmund Hodges (1776-1841). Mr. Kirby thought that Edmund and his family lived in South Carolina before coming to Sevier County, Tennessee. Edmund Hodges md. 1st Sarah Pearson (1780-1823). Their children were: William H. Hodges b. 1815 Leniva Hodges b. 1816, d. 1844 Henry Gaines Hodges b. 1818, d. 1888 Isom Hodges b. 1823 Edmund md. 2d Sarah Bell McCrosky.
