    2. Please post a correction to any error. As these were for personal notes I do not have attributes given to the sources, my apology. Jim Sims Part III Halifax Co., Va. 1750- general migration from Chestnut Creek in Franklin Co., Va., (in what was then Halifax Co.to the general area of Marlboro Co., SC as early as 1750 (Bob Hodges, 2 Nov 1998) 1752- will of William Owen, grandfather of Elizabeth Kearby who m. William Hodges (1754-1843) Legacies to Francis Kerby and John Kerby, Sr. Will of William Owen dated 23 October 1752. Date it was proved is illegible but on the same page is an inventory another party dated 18 Sept 1753. He had no wife at the time. The bequests in the will cannot be clearly read. To a sons, John(?), “one shellen starlen, to William, one shellen starlen (William Owen appears as security in Pittsyvania Co., in 1785), to Lansford one shellen starlen, to A? (name of a daughter?) one shellen starlen, to Marey Gennes one shellen starlen, to Ann Medlin one shellen starlen, shellen starlen to Joanna Kearby, one Negro gall named Diner to Leyba Adkens, one shellen starlen to Francis Kearby (Jr.?), one bed and furniture, pot, dishes basons and seet of “wede” and to his grandson John Kearb his horse, bridle and saddle. John Kirby Sr. and Francis Kirby were executors. Wittenesses were William Mullins, Jacob Adkens and Joseph Keattown. Williams mark was an “O”. ( Halifax wills 15 circa 1751). (Virginia Genealogist, Vo. 23. p. 163) 1754 - estimated date of birth William Hodges (1754 Halifax, Va.? or NC?-1843 Lawrence Co.,Al.) One source says without documentation - Hodges (b. 14 Apr 1754) Pittsylvania, VA. 1760- Processioning of Antrim Parish, Halifax Co., Va. ...”here a Report of Processioning ...won tract of land for Francis Kearby...” (p.41) “we failed to Procession the following land because no one attended to shew the lines one Tract for Samuel Davis one tract for Francis Kearby ...one for John Kirby ...” Certified under our hands this 19th day of March 1760 Part IV Pittsylvannia Co.. Va. 1763- First list of Titheables ... selected names, Francis Kirby, Joshiah Kirby, William Young, John Kirby, Jesse Kirby, David Kirby, Isham Hodges, John Hodges, John Kirby Jr., Robert Hodges 1771- a Fleming Hodges (relationship unk, name of interest), s/o Thomas Hodges and Susannah Bomar, born ca. 1771 inHalifax County, VA. Married Betsy Powell April 14, 1792. On tax records (Halifax) 1833-35. (Possible namesake of Wm. Hodges son and grandsons named Fleming) 1773- will of Samuel Davis, wife Sarah Davis, Five children; Elizabeth Kearby, John David, Wilmoth Davis, Susannah Davis. John Kearby, security for executor John Davis. dated 11-29-1772, proved 11-25-1773 (Hodges Msg file 130) 1773- will of John Kerby proved, grandfather of Elizabeth Kerby, who m. William Hodges (1754-1843)
