    3. Hi Mike, Don't know when James Jr. died but the James that drowned in the Cumberland River was the son of Jesse and nephew of James Jr.. James Calvin Hodges b. 10/17/1776 Pittsylvania Co., Va. d. 9/8/1812 Major in the War of 1812.. drowned in the Cumberland River near Nashville, Tn (Cairo) after falling from a boat. md. September 16, 1800 in Sumner Co., Tn. sp. Hannah Wilson in Sumner Co., Tn. d/o James Wilson b: Abt. 1780 in Pittsylvania Co., Va. Administration was first given to Hiram Hodges with Natan Yoes and John Yoes his security, 7-7-1808 Drury Hodges was shown as the administrator. "Tennessee Tid Bits 1778-1914 Vol II". Deed David London(sic.) to James Hodges for 640 Acres was proven by the oath of Robert Perry (maybe Terry) and ordered to be registered. "Robertson County TN. Court Minute Book 1 page 22." 10-6-1807 Ordered that the adm.(sic administration) of the estate of James Hodges Des(sic. Deceased) be at liberty to sell the personal property of the estate.
