Hi Mike, Don't know when James Jr. died but the James that drowned in the Cumberland River was the son of Jesse and nephew of James Jr.. James Calvin Hodges b. 10/17/1776 Pittsylvania Co., Va. d. 9/8/1812 Major in the War of 1812.. drowned in the Cumberland River near Nashville, Tn (Cairo) after falling from a boat. md.
