I run the Saving Graves website and I'm contacting you regarding the Old Hodges Family Cemetery, located in Hodges, Greenwood County, South Carolina. Bruce W. Cobb ( who I am copying this email to) submitted an Endangered Cemetery Report last night regarding the fact that this cemetery is currently being used as a Go Cart track. I have to tell you that I've been running Saving Graves for just about a year and a half now and have received close to 1000 reports of endangered cemeteries but this one is beyond anything that I have heard of. I cannot begin to fully express how shocked and disgusted that I am over this. I'd like to very much like to try and help if at all possible. Mr. Cobb mentioned that you had some photographs of the conditions in the cemetery. Would it be possible for me to get copies of those photos that I could place on the website in a report on this cemetery. I'd like to let others become aware of this situation. Also, if possible could either one of you supply me with contact information on local media outlets (TV stations, newspapers, radio, etc) that serve that area. I need to research the South Carolina law regarding cemeteries to see exactly what it covers but I have to think that in this situation that the way would be on our side. Do either of you know if the local law enforcement has been contacted regarding this and if so what their reaction has been. I'm in Atlanta, and was planning on going over to the Georgia - South Carolina border this weekend for lunch in the little town of Gumlog, but I may head on over to Hodges weather permitting to see this for myself. ----- Original Message ----- From: Nobody To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 26, 2001 2:54 AM Subject: ENDANGERED CEMETERY REPORT UPDATE Date: June26,2001 name: Bruce W.
