I have just returned from a trip to Nashville and the State Archives & Library there. One very interesting book which I saw there was the "Pioneers of Coffee County Tennessee Their Ancestors and Descendants" compiled by Alice Daniel Pritchard 1996. Ms Pritchard's address is given as 1247 Cinchona, Vista, CA 92083. The Library of Congress catalog card is 94-12045. The above referenced book outlines her HODGE lineage and excellent information about her paternal great grandmother, Ann Hodge (1817-1861); Eleminta "Minta" Hodge (1865-1995); Archibald Hodge (1830-1892) son of Riley Hodge (1808-1839); William Hodge (1783-1853) and John Hodge (ca1785 - ) and Robert Hodge, Jr. On page 52, she says, "All records hint that William-418 and John Hodge-296 were brothers. But who was Isaac Hodge and what were the names of his children? (Listed on Pg. 71, of Bedford Co., 1830, census, no further record.)" I believe that the information she seeks on Isaac Hodge is that he is the one who goes to live in the area of Guntown, Itawamba Co., MS. I believe that he is the same Isaac Hodges who was married to Rebecca McClain of Georgia. This Isaac is in the 1860 Federal Census for Itawamba Co., MS but not 1870.
