Jno. C. Wright, a local preacher of the Coweta circuit was born in Clarke co., Ga., 31st Dec. 1803, educated at Salem in the same county, licensed to exhort while at school by Rev. Whitman C. Hill in 1823 and at the close of the same year was licensed to preach by the District Conference, Rev. Samuel K. Hodges, P. E. He immediately joined the South Carolina Conference. He was employed at the time of his death by the P. E. of the LaGrange District to serve the Houston Mission. On the 27th Feb. last while at the supper table of a brother Turner, he was struck with paralysis... He lived after the stroke four days.... R. F. Jones. B. F. Pegues, in Marlboro county, S. C. The bride of the occasion was the Colonel's daughter, Miss Harriet S. J., who was married to Rev. E. T. Hodges of the South Carolina Conference. She died July 2. One Tuesday afternoon we met at New Hope Church, where sleep the remains of her grandparents.
