Cathy - I don't think your Hodges are a part of my line; however, if you are able to get back a little farther we may find out differently. The first thing you need to do is get a copy of his death certificate. This is available from the county where he died or in your case the county seat of Decatur County or you may also request a copy by writing (or some states may be able to request on-line) Georgia Department of Human Resources, Vital Records Service, Room 217-H Trinity Avenue, SW; Atlanta, GA 30334. I do not know what they presently charge but in Texas it is $11.00. Some death certificates will show who the parents were and where they were born, that is if the next of kin or person who provides the information knows that. You may also check with the office at the cemetery and see if they have a copy of the death certificate in their file. Happy hunting.
