    3. Hi Llew, No, this list is not restricted nor only interested in American Hodges. I think what you've noticed is that the majority of the researchers on this list are American and because of that are limited to the available information here in the states. Most all of us can trace our earlier ancestors to the British Isles but are lacking contacts for further research. My immigrant ancestor is Frances Hodge, b. 1745 in Co. Antrim, Ireland and entered the US in 1772. I have a lot of data on him after this time but have been unable to find anything in Ireland. I found about 5 Hodge families currently listed in a small town west of Belfast but have not been able to make contact. The Hodge/s name was common in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and I'm sure that our lines would converge if we had the ability to trace back far enough. Many of our ancestors came over in the 17th and 18th century with thousands more during the Potato Famine in the 1850's. One of the lines that I've been trying to get more info on is the Hodge Shipbuilding Firm of Cardiff, Wales. I've seen a photo of the company taken ca 1890 but have not located any on them. Another person on this list was looking for her line from Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales. I'd be very interested in the information on your line but I'm not sure that I could be of much help to you, although I'll certainly try. Please post some of the earliest information and just maybe you'll find a cousin. Welcome to the group!
