    1. [HODGES-L] HODGES TROWELL Effingham Co GA
    2. Peavy, John R SAS
    3. Dear Cousin James H. TROWELL, My wife and I are also GREINER/GRINER descendants, and my wife shares your HODGES descent (we are not TROWELL descendants that I know of). My wife's Samuel HODGES (m1 Jane BLACK, divorced, m2 Margaret Ann GRAHAM) was the younger brother of your John HODGES Sr, father of Hardy HODGES m Susan MARLOW, parents of Washington P. HODGES m Eliza Caroline GRINER, parents of your Amanda E. HODGES TROWELL. Your Rozzie LEE MASSEY b 1897 d c 1927 is too late for the resources which I have (primarily up to 1880). It appears that, as early as 1870, when each was three to four years old, your Amanda E. HODGES & William Henry TROWELL were neighbors (in the census, their hh numbers differed by 2). I know little of the SC roots of the TROWELLs. Since I work almost exclusively from abstracts (primarily for Bulloch, Effingham and Screven Cos GA), your verification of both the following data and its interpretation (including the identifications) will be important in your research. The data is centered on census abstracts, with all data from other sources appearing in [bracketed annotations]. Please keep me advised of how your research is progressing, and I welcome corrections and additions. May God Bless You and Your Family, Bob (John Robert) PEAVY Post Office Box 1519 Rincon GA 31326-1519 ________________________________ BC - Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah (Sav), Chatham Co GA EBC - Elam Baptist Church/Foy Cemetery, Effingham (Eff) Co GA LOBC - Little Ogeechee Baptist Church, Screven (Screv) Co GA MGBC - Middle Ground Baptist Church, Screven Co GA (Sylvania Library does not have microfilm of Church Minutes!)
