Ken and Gerry, Thanks. My Hodges were purported to be related to The Jesse James of infamy. I think some of the sibs owned a general store of some kind in a town near Ft. Valley. I haven't looked up death notices yet. Charles Jefferson Hodges died in Chicago probably a bit before the depression--one reason my mother went into Walk-a-thons a few years later. Sue
