I would greatly appreciate help or advice from anyone on this list regarding my Hodges line. My earliest proven Hodges is Robert Hodges, born about 1823, Georgia, died 1899 in Henry (now Houston) County, Alabama. He married Sabrina Parker in Sumter County, Georgia in 1850. Our Parker research suggests that Sabrina was probably of the same North Carolina line as the Catherine Parker who married Benjamin Hodges, son of Elias Hodges of Pitt County, NC. Their children were: William E. Hodges born about 1851, Barney Green Hodges, b. 1852-died 1933 Brooks Co. Ga, Joel King Hodges born about 1854, Elizabeth L. Hodges born about 1857, Mary Ann Hodges born abt. 1859, Robert J. Hodges born about 1860, Alice Hodges born about 1862, and Lamb W. Hodges (born 1863, my ancestor) . I BELIEVE, but have been unable to prove, that Robert's father was John J. Hodges, born about 1801 in Georgia; wife Charlott born about 1803. John J. was living in Sumter County in 1850 at the time my Robert and Sabrina were married; and Robert and Sabrina moved to live near them in Henry County Alabama after John J. and Charlott moved to Henry County, AL and bought land in 1858. John J. was either a son, or grandson, of Robert Hodges who died in Pulaski County, Georgia about 1827; more about this Robert in a post to follow. Any help or advice appreciated. Jeff Armstrong
