I am researching the Carrs of Halifax Co., VA who bought land from James Hodges in 1777 and James and wife Martha in 1783. James Hodges moved to Newberry Co., SC around 1785 and died 1787. In his will he leaves Tabby 10 shillings. William Carr's wife was Tabitha (no last name). I am hoping that the Tabby mentioned in James' will is Tabitha. The name Tabitha in mentioned often among the Hodges during this time frame. Do you have a Tabitha in your data base? Her birth year would be c. 1750. Thank you, Julia Carr
