While going through my paper work today I found this and thought I share it with the rest of the Hodges/Hodge Families as I sure some of us belong as cousins and don't even know it (yet) Percy Canada March 6, 1855 My Dear sisiter I have been thinking of you for several days and now commebce writing.and if you have any compasion you will return an answer soon I am here with Royal,but yet have it in mind to see Pa. and all their. If we all should live. I suppose there have been some changes in your new brick house. Little Mary is a fine child and keeping her mothers heart full. Nathan is quite a young man also Loraine's and coopers, Theodosia ai a fine young woman also and the boys john and Henry are grown and I can't visulaize them now. Please tell me of them. I want to know how John's family are ? seth and Lucia? How are they doing? and Orville's family and the rest of the family, is every one fine their? Is Mary (HODGES) Jones is Canada yet? if she is I shall write to her again. My health is pretty good. I shall not write a very long lettler this time, but do you here from James and Platt. Is it not strange that they do not let us know how they are. Do you ever think of comming to see us once more? while I think of it is old grey still alive? My complimnts to her turning on the bridge so neatly, I often think of that visit with a shudder...... I must draw too a close now . Do write Mary, Love to Henry and the children,and all the rest of the family there. Your Afft. I live almost where the original cabin set many many years ago. So the hodges have been right here in this spot for a long time I call that comming full circle wouldn't ya;ll by the way we did not know know this when Dave and I married? thats what makes it so neat! chodges@erie.net
