Robert Hodges who was the son of Isham is not hte same as Robert D. Hodges, who was the son of the other Robert and brother of Elijah. In one census Isham's son Robert was called Robert B. Hodges, but I think that was because the census taker copied the personal property tax roll, which had him listed as Hodges Robert Blacksmith, which was his occupation and probably not his name. We think that Robert (d. 1832) was the son of the older Robert, who was one of the first settlers in what is now Franklin County, Va. Isham may have been a son also. IF the eldest Robert is the same one who was in Goochland County 1721-28, he was born by 1700. Please post the rest of your line. What else would you like to know from me?
