I have a Major Hodge bond to marry Elizabeth Sexton Jun. 12, 1829, Surry County, NC. Major b. ca. 1808, son of Moses Hodges and (probably) wife ____ Burton. On Grayson County, Va. tax list 1839. This is a Franklin County Hodges sneaking down into Surry to confuse 20th century genealogists. My kin did that from time to time. Where is this Major from?
