I have a question of those who are descendants of Gabriel, son of William and Deborah L. Creath Hodges. According to the information that several of you have posted showed that several of his children from 1853-1868 were all born in Martinstown, Putnam County, Missouri. However, Gabriel purchased land in Clark County in 1852 and it wasn't until 1857 that he purchased land in Schuyler County. This would indicate to me that the children born between these dates were most likely born in Clark County. Gabriel is on the census in 1860 in Schuyler County. I would think that the two children born between these dates would have been born in Schuyler County. At some time between 1860 and the 1870 census, the family did finally move to Putnam County. Does anyone have any idea when he moved to Putnam County?
