Hi Dee Dee, not necessaryly not married. when the death certificate was filled out, who ever gave the info at the time, did not know his father's name. They gave whatever info they knew. You have a clue there. interesting they did know his mothers name - i would start looking for MESSER. She may have lived with them before she died and told someone in the family her name.
