    1. [HODGES-L] Request Info. for Reddic and Josph K. Hodge
    2. >From a marriage license in Coles County Illinois records for the marriage in 1895 of my Grandfather Levi J Hodge, that my Great Grandfather was Reddic Hodge. The license also said that my Grandfather Levi was from Lille Ky. I suspect the correct spelling should have been Lily Ky., but can not document that yet. Now I am trying to find any Info. on Reddic. At the Coles County Geneology Society archives, a previous reseacher had left a short summary of a Reddic Hodge, stating a Reddic Hodge appeared in the 1850 census as 2/12 ( 2 mos.) old, the son of Fanny Ann Cartwright born 1816 in Posey Co. Indiana and Joseph K. Hodge born in 1809 in Indiana. He also states that Reddic Hodge, born 1850, and wife "Belle" appear in the 1900 census for Boone County Iowa but the children listed DO NOT include a Levi J, Hodge, born in 1868. The folklore is that my Grandfather Levi left home at a very early age, but that would only make him 12 years old. Also, the researcher says that this Reddic Hodge died in 1863, 5 years before my Grandfather was supposed to be born. BUT, it is POSSIBLE that my Grandfather DROPPED some years along the line to be under the age limit for railroad employment or whatever. Any help on my search to confirm/ deny that this Reddic Hodge is in fact the father of Levi J. Hodge or any info. on Levi J. Hodge from Lille Ky. would be much appreciated. Bill Hodge
