    1. [HODGES-L] William HODGES Goochland Co., VA
    2. I am looking for information on two (?) William HODGES that lived in Goochland Co., VA. One is the William HODGES who married Susanna LOVELL in Goochland in 1758 and the other one (may be the same one) who married Elizabeth COCKE in Goochland in 1774. I have documentation proving the William that married Elizabeth COCKE is the son of Welcome William HODGES of Goochland that died there in 1772 (I have his Will). If they are one in the same, then William must have divorced Susanna to marry Elizabeth, since Susanna was still alive in 1815 (mentioned in an order book for Goochland). Thanks for any help with this. Tim Spradling

    3. Dear Katie, Perhaps someone in the genealogical society of Franklin County, Virginia might know something about her. When I first started looking for my grandfather Hodges' family my search led me to the Franklin County website on the internet and it gave me an e-mail address for Beverly someone who said their genealogical group puts out a newsletter periodically which tells who is researching what, and she sent me a sample copy. I did not subscribe because shortly after I learned that my Hodges' branch had migrated to Tennessee early in the 1800's and I did not feel I would learn much more from Franklin County about the later migrations of my family, but perhaps that connection might lead you to Linda Olds. Thinking back, I sort of recall that during my searching I saw the name of Linda Olds as a researcher, and that she is from Utah or some other place in the west. I also remember seeing at the time there was someone named Katherine whose father had done a lot of research on the Franklin County Hodges, and she offered to share the information. Like many others I asked to be on her list to receive the information, but never heard another word about it. I thought perhaps the enormous response to her generous offer had overwhelmed her or perhaps she had decided to get her information into book form and publish it. Good Luck! 1. [HODGES-L] Family of John Hodges and Nancy Ellen Cabean
    2. Wayne A. Hodges
    3. Hi Folks! I need to make contact with descendants of John Hodges and Nancy Ellen Cabean.....OR.... anyone who might have data regarding this family. I believe John may be my great-great-grandfather and am attempting to find more data to substantiate this belief. John Hodges was born circa 1825 in Indiana and died circa 1879. He was one of eleven known children of Allen Hodges and Sarah Allison. Allen was born ca 1790 in Tennessee and died 12 November 1873 in Galesburg, Knox Co., IL. John married Nancy Ellen Cabean on 15 April 1867 in Knox Co., IL . John was about 42 years old at the time of this marriage. It is my belief that John may have been married before. Does ANYONE have any data regarding a previous marriage? Does anybody have a copy of this marriage record of John Hodges to Nancy Cabean? Can ANYBODY shed any further light on this family? Any and all information would be gratefully appreciated and I eagerly look forward to hearing from all of you on this matter. Thank you so much! "PJ" at bigwayne@preferred.com

    2. Kenneth Hodge
    3. I'm looking for any information concerning William and Elizabeth Hodge. William was born in Grainger Co., Tn. in 1831, moved to Roane Co., Tn. ca 1845 where he married Elizabeth King (widow) in 1849. In 1859 he moved to Carroll Co., Ar. with Elizabeth and their children (Elizabeth's older children had married and stayed behind). They were not listed in the 1870 Ar. census and family story is that they went on to Texas, maybe Mineral Wells. William's brother, Bartholomew lived in Carroll Co., Ar. at that time and William may have only stopped for a short while. 1850 Morgan Co., Tn.
