Bill Hodges was 19 in August of 1970 when he escaped. He was serving a burglary sentence. Police say he eventually settled in Decherd, a small Franklin County town 76 miles southeast of Nashville. He worked as a landscaper and nurseryman, didn't cause any trouble in town and was married nearly three years ago. But in January, Franklin County officers arrested him on domestic violence and marijuana possession charges, and eventually discovered his fugitive status. Officers picked up Hodges on Tuesday and he remained in Franklin County's jail Thursday night. He is expected to be extradited to Michigan by next week, but his wife Calamity Jane Hodges is pleading for lenience. "I can't sleep. I can't eat. I miss him. I want him home," she told WKRN-TV.
