    3. Thanks Bob. I would appreciate any information that you have. There were Hodges in Abbeville Co. and Marlboro Co.SC. at about the same time and it does get confusing, especially when they all named their male children Isham, John, Edmund or William. I have no information on Isham at all. At this point, he is only a name in the family Bible. Maybe you have information that will help in my search. Pat Adams >They certainly sound familiar to me. 1. [HODGES-L] Raymond and Emery Charles Hodges
    2. Kurt Pickering
    3. Hi, Diana - glad to be aboard! Hi, everyone else! In the time I've been poking around genealogically, one of the names I have advanced the least is my own mother's. You can imagine the frustration. First, I hope the line I have (skipping me, my sister and my parents because we're all still alive) will help someone: Emery Charles Hodges b: AUG 1854 (according to US census, mis-spelled Emory) d: 8 MAR 1930, Joliet, Will Co, IL m: Ella Mae Evans b: OCT 1866 (according to US census) d: 26 FEB 1945, Kansas City, Wyandotte Co, KN ch: Lena, Raymond Leslie, Guy Earl, Beulah, Emery Charles "Pete" Jr. sources: family; US censuses of IL Raymond Leslie Hodges b: 24 MAR 1891, Danville, Vermilion Co, IL d: 18 APR 1951, Lima, Allen Co, OH m: Grace Gladys Kantner, 30 JAN 1915, Wapakoneta, Auglaize Co, OH b: 12 OCT 1896, Auglaize Co, OH d: 8 OCT 1988, Wapakoneta, Auglaize Co, OH ch: June Eleanor, LIVING, Zenith Dephane, Carolyn Jean, LIVING (Mom) sources: family, US censuses of IL Second, does anyone have any information on the elusive Emery Charles? My mother remembers her mother saying EC was orphaned while crossing the Atlantic when he was about 2, yet the two census entries I've found on him both indicate the enumerator was told he was born in Indiana. He married a daughter of his employer, a wealthy Evans whose first name no one in the family seems to remember. There's supposed to be French-Canadian in one of these two - EC or Ella Mae. I have included little on either wife to save space but will gleefully respond to anyone contacting me directly at kpickering@tnema.org to swap info on those surnames as well. (In fairness, I have a metric ton on the Kantners and really nothing more than what you see on the Evanses.) Happy, hopeful hunting!

    1. [HODGES-L] Hodges/Page in Goochland
    2. Since one of my main paternal lines is Page, I'm also on the Page-L list. Some of you may know of the amazing work done by Delores Rutherford in the Goochland and surrounding VA areas on the Page family [oh how I wish I wish that my Page family had gone to VA instead of California!]. Anyway, she posted this brief query about Hodge/Page connection. If any of you can help her please reply directly to her dcr555@softcom.net or to me and we will post your response to the PAGE-List. Thanks connie Children of William PAGE (R-1) and Mary WEATHERSPOON (his 2nd marriage) (concluded) R-1-9 Patsy ("Polly") PAGE She was b. 22 Sep 1782 and bp'd 19 Apr 1783 in Goochland Co., the last child of William and Mary PAGE whose birth is registered by the Rev. Wm. Douglas.(1) Her marriage to James HODGES on 18 Jun 1808 was performed by Rev. Lewis CHAUDOIN, the PAGE Family marry-er in that county.(2) I have no more information on this couple except that they do not appear in the 1810 Census of Goochland Co. and may have moved to where other PAGE and HODGES families had migrated. Perhaps some HODGES researchers could tell us about them By the way this is only a small part of Delores's 32nd posting on the Pages of Goochland. If any of you are researching Hodges/Page you will find a wealth of information probably in the archives or the newly started "threaded links" on the genforum. genealogy.com pages. Whee..... it's amazing. connie

    2. PAT & WOODY ADAMS
    3. This is my first time to post to this list and am looking forward to the possibility of swapping some information with others. I am researching the family of my ggg. grandfather John Hodges. John was B.Aug.29, 1789 in South Carolina D.March 21,1872 in Calloway Co. Kentucky. The Bible record states that he was the son of "Isham Hodges and Mary his wife". I believe that about 1810 the family left S.C. and moved to East Tenn. before moving on to Western Ky. around the mid 1820s. John was the Sheriff of Calloway Co. in the late 1820s. The 1830 Ky census indicates that he had five children living in the household. One of the female children (Elizabeth) married Pleasant Ware Evans on Oct. 22, 1846 . They are both buried in the Evans Cem. in Calloway Co. as is John. There are a lot of ties between the Evans and Hodges families and I am having a difficult time sorting it all out. I believe that John may be the brother of Edmond Hodges B.Nov. 10,1797 in South Carolina. Some of Edmond's children were living next door to John or a few doors away in the 1830, 1840 and 1850 Calloway Co. Ky. census. Does this family sound familiar to anyone? I would love to trade Info. Thanks, Pat Adams James (Woody)& Pat Adams Rockledge, FL. E-mail:<jamadam@digital.net>
