My grandfather was Harris Elijah Gore (aka Harry), born July 8, 1918 in Southern Louisiana, we believe in Ascension Parish, died Aug. 29, 1992 in Johnson City, TN. He married Ava Hodges of East Tennessee.Most of his siblings are still living. His parents were James Forest Gore born about March 29, 1893, we believe in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, I don't know death date. He married Mary Eveline Arceneaux? or Arcenueax?. Since you mentioned "Gore" and "Tennessee" in the same email, you might check out the lineage of former V.P. Al Gore, whose family was from Tennessee. Al Gore's lineage can probably be found on line. Even though your Gore's seem to be from LA, your grandfather married Ava Hodges from Tennessee, so there may be a Gore family tie to TN. Sorry, I hit the send button too soon. James Hodges came to Meredosia, Morgan County, Il from Huntington County Pennsylvania. He died in Meredosia Sept. 16, 1842. He and his wife Catherine had at least 7 children. My GrGrGrandfather, Thomas was born in Pennsylvania but became a very successful farmer in Morgan County. He married Elizabeth James first and Susan Burris second. My GrGrandfather, John J. Hodges was the youngest of Thomas and Elizabeth. He married Deliah McVey and they left by covered wagon to settle in Arkansas, near the Oklahoma border. They had four children. My Grandfather, Oliver had a twin sister, Olive Snodgrass. They were successful in the wholesale grocery business in the Tallequah, OK area before selling out and failing as farmers in the panhandle of Texas. I hope some of these names help.

How do the Hodges of Morgan Co, connect to those on Macoupin CO. Seth T. Hodge migrated from Sumner Co Tenn in about 1813. Your line is from that area too. So, could there be a connection.
