I am looking for info on a John Hodge of Texas. He is my g-grandfather. According to my grandmother, Nellie Hodge, she was born in Dallas county Texas, May 1880. However no 1880 census record matches this. There is a census record of a John Hodge in Denton county, listed as a herdsman, who was single at the time. Nellie Hodge was raised in Brown county by a different familiy. In the 1880 census there is a John Hodge, aged 59, in Brown county, married to a Mildrege, born in Tennessee.
