He lived most of his adult life in Hopkins county, Ky. He was married to a Mildred. This was not Mildred's first marraige, as she had children named Stroud. It may not have been John's either. John A. was in Brown county Tx by 1877. John A. may have been related to my grandmother Nellie Hodge, whose father was a J.E. Hodge, b in Illinois by one account. After Nellie married my grandfather H.L. Evans, they lived 1900-1901 in a place called El Dorado. I have not been able to find them on the 1900 soundex, but I have not checked the Illinois soundex either. If you think their is a connection let me know. Bob Evans
