I'm new to the Hodge list and wondering if anyone can help. Our Hodge line is through my father, who was born in Tennessee. His great-grandfather was John Hodge, born in 1834 in Grainger county. John's mother was Rachel Hodge, daughter of Ambrose and Elizabeth Barton Hodges, born in 1793. I've come to a dead end finding any information on Ambrose Hodge or Hodges. I've seen it spelled both ways. I also have no information on Rachel's husband/s or even if she was married. She had several children with the last name Hodge, which is kind of odd. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Would you have any knowledge of a Luke Lee Hodge, b August 08, 1833 in Grainger Co., Tn. Luke was my great grandfather. Could Luke and your John be of the same family?
