    3. Thanks, Faye. I'll file this away in case I ever find the connection. By the way, I just tried to e-mail someone who had an old query in the Sumter Co., SC website about Charles Hodge who was born 1806 in Sumter Co., SC and moved to Troy, AL in 1831. The e-mail was undeliverable (probably because the address was two years old), but I was wondering if you know anything about this person? His date of birth is two years older than my Miles, and he moved to Troy, AL (in the Alabama stomping grounds of Miles and family) one year before Miles married Frances Wheeler in 1832 in Montgomery Co., AL. Again, lots of coincidences. Eventually, I'll find one that pays off! 3. I have come across the name of Charles. I will have to dig through my info to see what I can find. When I first started out with the Hodge research, I stuck to SC, except for my direct line which I knew had moved on to GA. Many of the people that I found only a few times, I assumed had died early. I have not done any research in AL. It now appears that many of these people moved on to AL or other places. Please let me know any Hodge that you find in AL and I will dig and see what I can find on them in SC. Even my direct line John has unaccounted for sons that only appeared in the early census were they were only counted by approximate age. We need to do lots more digging in NC too. I know the Sumter families came from there and most probably, at the same time that some of the family moved into SC others of the same lines moved on to other places. I hope that before long we will make some new discoveries. Several people show info different from mine. So far I have not been able to get them to tell me why they chose to list different info. What I have is document, except for a few good guesses with the early people. I am always happy to correct my info, if others will just tell me why it should be changed. 3. Barbara, I noticed your post on Sunday on Hodge families. I have an ancestor, Brice (or Bryce) Hodge. I have searched for years trying to find something of his family, parents, siblings, etc. to no avail. The first account of him is in Bibb Co. AL when he married Fanny Clardy on l9 Nov. l824. He bought patent lands of about 700 acres in Pickens Co. AL where Brice and Fanny settled. I have good information on both Brice and Fanny from the time of their marriage to their deaths in Pickens Co. AL. According to census records of this family in Pickens Co. AL, Brice was born abt. l779-l800 in Tennessee. Fanny was born in South Carolina. Do you have any information on a Brice Hodge? If so, I will very much appreciate having any information or just a clue to his background. Thank you for your time. Eugenia --- Rains Barbara <barbrains2@yahoo.com> wrote: > I have a Benjamin M.
