Tina - I suggest that you look at the 1840 Fed. Census records for Ravenna, Ohio (East of Akron, Ohio & about 6 miles East of Kent State University). See if you can obtain an early History of that area. When was the first City directory for Akron published? Check the land records for that county in that time period. Church Records???
